In an effort to give back, Larry began shooting school pictures for his daughter’s nursery school & lo and behold it turned into the “Cool For School Photo” that Larry & his wife, Klaudia now run.

Larry Bercow, “Cool For School Photo” founder, was born in New York City where he began his photography career in his parents basement developing black & white prints using his mother’s soup bowls as trays.

After being an apprentice for the photographer Hans Namuth, he began working on his own in editorial & advertising photography shooting for magazines including ArtNews, New York, Vogue, Art and Antiques as well as for many of the biggest ad agencies & clients.

Larry later returned to school to deepen his relationship to his art, received a degree in Visual Arts from Columbia University, and has been included in museum & art gallery exhibitions. You can view his work at bercowstudio.com.

Larry currently lives in NYC with his wife & daughter and when school is out, they spend their summers in the Austrian Alps. His favorite activity is taking road trips & immersing himself in exploring local cultures through the people he meets in the places he visits.
